About Jim

Jim Colton is a Lowcountry-based Realtor® bringing an acute business sense and low-stress approach to his buyer and seller clients. Over a 30-year successful career in business and technology consulting, Jim fine-tuned his ability to listen, understand, and deliver. Now, he puts these practiced consulting techniques to work for his real estate clients.

A native northeasterner, Jim earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Management at Penn State University before obtaining his MBA at the University of Maryland. He launched his career in Sales and Business Management before zeroing in on consulting with a specialty in managing and implementing information systems. Through diligent research and exceptional attention to detail, Jim strategically enhanced business processes for the likes of General Electric, JP Morgan, Progressive Insurance and CVS.

In 2012, Jim and his wife Lisa visited the Lowcountry and were immediately enchanted by the natural beauty, mild climate, and friendly people. Like many of his clients, they never wanted to leave! Jim and Lisa currently reside on Spring Island, where they feel fortunate to have regular visits from their three daughters. Outside of work, Jim has a strong appreciation for architecture, interior design and home construction. He also enjoys reading, bike riding, swimming, tennis, and a trek around the golf course.
